Phoenix Partners Group to Hold Fifth Annual Memorial Charity Day on March 16

Revenues and Commissions for the Day Will be Donated to Charitable Causes through The Phoenix Foundation

NEW YORK--()--Phoenix Partners Group, a leading interdealer broker with offices in New York, London, Switzerland and Paris, announced today that it will hold the Fifth Annual Memorial Charity Day on March 16. In honor of former colleagues Joshua Bruce Sawyer, Marc Dent and Jerome Thibaud, all global revenues and commissions earned that day will be donated to local charities through The Phoenix Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization that the firm launched earlier this month.

Phoenix Partners Group’s Memorial Charity Day is an annual event through which Phoenix Partners Group and its employees honor Messrs. Sawyer, Dent and Thibaud by donating all revenues and commissions earned that day to charitable causes. Mr. Sawyer, a former colleague, died on January 23, 2007 at the age of 28 from angiosarcoma, a very rare and aggressive form of cancer that affects blood vessels. Mr. Sawyer was a vital part of the Phoenix team and a dear friend to everyone at the firm. Mr. Dent died on November 25, 2006 after a sudden illness; he was a valued colleague who left behind a wife and five children. Tragically, on March 20, 2010, we lost a beloved colleague, Jerome Thibaud, who died in a skiing accident two days after celebrating his 29th birthday. Based in our London office, he was an exceptional professional, a true team player, and a loyal friend.

“This is the fifth year that we've held our charity day. We miss our departed colleagues dearly, and I think each of them would be extraordinarily pleased to know of all the good work that the charities we partner with have done through the years because of how deeply they touched us," said Marcos Brodsky, co-founder and Managing Director of Phoenix Partners Group. "With the establishment of The Phoenix Foundation, that tradition will continue and our colleagues’ warmth, compassion, and wonderful spirit will continue to inspire us."

Launched by leading interdealer broker Phoenix Partners Group, the Foundation provides financial assistance, such as direct donations, grants, and scholarships, and other support to underfunded local charities where the Foundation deems it can have a meaningful impact on the quality and continuation of the services and programs those charities provide. While any qualifying charity may be considered, the Foundation is keenly interested in those dedicated to helping underserved groups, namely underprivileged children, at-risk teens, and the elderly.
