MIAMI--()--600 Brickell at Brickell World Plaza today unveiled plans to open in August with significant, unique features that will make the luxury building a game-changer in the global office market.

The developer, Foram Group (Foram), has built the 600,000-square-foot, 40-story project (formerly known as Brickell Financial Centre) to set a new international standard for technology and sustainability in office development.

In the heart of Miami’s downtown/financial district on Brickell Avenue, 600 Brickell will be the most “connected” office building in the Southeast, with capabilities designed to stay ahead of global tenants’ most demanding technological applications for years to come. As South Florida’s first Cisco Connected Commercial Office Building in partnership with Cisco Systems, Inc., 600 Brickell will offer a powerful infrastructure designed to meet tenants’ present and future information technology needs in an instantaneous, simple and cost-effective way.

The project, designed by the global architecture firm RTKL, will feature a 30,000-square-foot ground-level plaza. The building is pre-certified LEED Platinum, the highest level available from the U.S. Green Building Council. When completed, 600 Brickell will be the first Platinum-certified, high-rise office building in Florida, and one of only a handful in the Southeastern United States. Currently, there are only 13 Platinum-certified (CS), high-rise office buildings of this size in the world.

"We designed the building from the inside out, not the outside in,” said Loretta H. Cockrum, Foram’s founder, chairman and CEO. “We wanted the most efficient office building ever designed, with no wasted space or wasted energy. This is a building of the future more than a building of the present. A lot of love has gone into that building, and a lot of pride "

John Breistol, Foram’s president, said: “Since we made the strategic decision to slow construction, we’ve spared no detail with this project. We aimed to create the most connected, forward-looking property while keeping the most demanding tenant in mind. We will move Foram’s corporate headquarters there. We will go up the elevator every morning and go to work. As owners, we will be there.”

CB Richard Ellis Inc. (CBRE), as exclusive broker for the project, is marketing 600 Brickell to potential tenants around the world, particularly those who require a full convergence of global connectivity, security and efficiency. Noël Steinfeld and Chris Dekker of CBRE’s Miami office are the local leasing agents working closely with Stuart Eisenkraft, Vice Chairman of CBRE and Co-Chairman of CBRE Global Cities in New York. CBRE will handle on-site property management while Foram is handling retail leasing.

Among the features that set 600 Brickell at Brickell World Plaza apart:

Technology: 600 Brickell offers its tenants direct access to the Internet backbone of the world through underground, redundant fiber-optic connections linking tenants to the world in less than a millisecond. This seamless connectivity – unrivaled in the Southeast – positions 600 Brickell as a unique center for international trading floors, post-production media facilities and other enterprises with the need to transfer vast amounts of data with top information security. 600 Brickell will be the first “Class A” office building of this magnitude in the world to be ISO 27001 Certified, the internationally accepted benchmark for information security. Tenants will benefit from Peer-Point, an on-site Information & Communication Technology (ICT) organization dedicated to managing and supporting tenants’ technology needs. As a Cisco Connected Commercial Office Building, 600 Brickell will offer a growing suite of data, voice, video and security solutions for tenants over one IP network.

“600 Brickell is blazing a new trail in the real estate industry,” said Joe O’Connor, Senior Executive Director for Cisco Connected Real Estate. “By positioning tenants to take advantage of technology’s exponential gains in power and speed, companies at 600 Brickell can be ready for the future from Day One. We know this ability can be critical for a business. We are proud to be partners with this unique property.”

World Plaza: 600 Brickell at Brickell World Plaza will invite people to connect in the 30,000-square-foot public plaza, with restaurants and cafés, a stage, and a 60-foot up-lit fountain. World Plaza is destined to become a venue for community events such as the South Florida Book Fair, Art Basel and the South Beach Wine and Food Festival.

Green/Sustainability: Once completed, 600 Brickell will be one of the world’s most sustainable buildings, one of only three LEED Platinum-Certified high-rise office buildings east of the Mississippi and the only one of this size south of Charlotte, N.C. 600 Brickell is adjacent to public transportation and two Metromover stops, and also offers bicycle racks, showers and an 11-tier parking garage with dedicated spaces for “green” vehicles. The project is a model of energy-efficient, sustainable architecture, with electrical and water costs savings compared to non-LEED buildings of similar size, and optimal use of natural light and space.

Maximized Floor Space: Because 600 Brickell has a compact core and is framed by steel rather than reinforced concrete, tenants can enjoy more flexible and open floor plans, greater efficiency per square foot and unimpeded views throughout the floor plate.

Amenities: 600 Brickell will offer a full, tenants-only fitness facility, a video conference center, a full-time corporate concierge, grand lobby with art exhibitions, sweeping views of Biscayne Bay, downtown, Brickell Avenue and Greater Miami. Most importantly, tenants will enjoy instant, on-site personal access and responsiveness from full-time ICT experts, building managers and the owner-developers.
