Netronome Appoints New CEO and CFO

Semiconductor veterans to join pioneer of network flow processors for next phase of growth

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--()--Netronome, the leading developer of network flow processors, today announced Howard Bubb as the company’s new president and chief executive officer and Perry Grace as chief financial officer. Bubb brings more than 20 years of experience with success in leading growth for a number of semiconductor and communications companies including Dialogic and Intel’s Communications Infrastructure Group. Netronome founder and CEO, Niel Viljoen, who has been responsible for the company’s technology vision, will become chief development officer. Grace brings extensive business and financial knowledge from high-tech industries with a history of driving sales and leading companies to successful IPOs.

“Over the past 10 months I have been working with Howard and the relationship grew to culminate in Howard joining as CEO. I am confident that he is the right person to lead Netronome at this time of record growth,” said Viljoen. “Flow processing has become intrinsic to all new product designs as the network becomes increasingly context-aware and secure. Personally, I look forward to turning my full attention to the development efforts that will keep Netronome at the leading edge of flow processing.”

A strategic leader with a deep understanding of the market, Bubb most recently served as chairman and chief executive officer of fabless semiconductor company Ambric until its acquisition by Nethra in 2009. Previously, he held executive management positions at Intel including corporate officer and vice president of Intel’s $1.7B Communications Infrastructure Group (CIG) which led the industry in network processors, embedded application processors, 10G optical modules and modular communications platforms. Bubb joined Intel through its acquisition of Dialogic, where he was CEO. Bubb holds a number of patents and currently serves on the board of multiple organizations including Calxeda.

“It is an honor to join Netronome during this period of rapid growth as the market embraces the move from packet to flow processing,” said Bubb. “Netronome pioneered flow processing and is providing its customers the silicon, hardware and software building blocks to securely process flows at the speeds required for next generation platforms. I look forward to working with Niel and the rest of the Netronome team to deliver the next wave of breakthroughs in our customers’ products.”

An experienced financial leader, Grace joins Netronome from Zilog, Inc., a microcontroller company, where he served as the company’s chief financial officer and executive vice president since 2001. During his time at Zilog, Grace led the company to a successful IPO in 2004 and was responsible for leading the finance, IT, legal, facilities and human resources functions. Prior to Zilog, Grace spent 12 years at National Semiconductor Corporation. Grace graduated from Deakin University in Victoria, Australia with Bachelor of Science degrees in accounting, computer science and commercial law.
