Hundreds of Virginia’s Auto Dealerships Using Print on Demand Temporary Tag Service

Now 350 dealerships using Virginia Interactive’s web-based service

RICHMOND, VA.--()--Switching to an online temporary tag system is being well received by Virginia’s automobile dealerships. Today Virginia Interactive LLC, announces that its web-based temporary tag system, Print on Demand Service, is now being used by 350 dealerships. Launched in January 2010, Print on Demand Service fulfills the requirement for all Virginia dealerships, whether licensed by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or the Virginia Motor Vehicle Dealer Board (MVDB), to switch to an online system by May 1, 2011.

“PODs (Print on Demand Service) is working very well for us,” said Nafees Abbasi, owner of Maximum Deals Auto Outlet. “Since May, we have issued over 1,500 tags online.”

Virginia Interactive’s Print on Demand Service was the first temporary tag online solution to fulfill the legislative deadline and the only one offering a web-based approach. The free service provides dealerships with significant cost savings resulting from its “pay as you go” approach for just statutory fees. With the automation of the Print on Demand Service, dealers no longer need to travel to the DMV’s Customer Service Centers to manually reconcile log books. With the Print on Demand Service’s web-based reporting functions, there is streamlined billing and invoicing between dealerships and the DMV. Virginia Interactive’s Print on Demand Service also provides users with a dedicated customer service number and live chat for technical support during business hours.

“I appreciate the strong customer service,” said Robert Arnold from Cooper Corvettes and Performance Cars, Inc. “Now I am ready to issue tags online!”
