Virginia Regional Extension Center Selects Pulse Complete EHR

WICHITA, Kan.--()--Pulse Systems, Inc., an industry-leading vendor of EHR and Practice Management solutions and Virginia Health Information Technology (VHIT), the official Regional Extension Center (REC) for the State of Virginia appointed by the Office of National Coordinator (ONC) have signed a definitive agreement to provide Virginia Physicians with state-of-the-art Complete EHR technology. By utilizing the “ONC-Certified” Pulse Complete EHR, Physicians who are Eligible Providers can achieve “Meaningful Use” of Complete EHR technology and receive government HITECH Act stimulus funds. An Eligible Provider can receive up to $44,000 under the Medicare program or up to $63,750 under the Medicaid program.

“VHIT conducted an extremely thorough selection process to winnow almost 200 potential EHR solutions down to a handful, all of which are provided through the Internet. After a comprehensive screening process led by the Center for Innovative Technology, we selected Pulse as one of our solution partners because of its technology, cost and service,” said VHQC President and CEO Donald A. Glozer, MHA, FACHE. VHIT is a program of VHQC, a health quality consulting firm that also serves as Virginia’s Medicare Quality Improvement Organization.

Doctors across Virginia will also be able to take advantage of Pulse’s guarantee that ensures Eligible Providers meet EHR certification requirements for Meaningful Use and maximize their ability to receive 2011 reimbursement funds authorized by the HITECH Act. “I am confident that our partnership with Pulse will help Virginia primary care providers make Meaningful Use of electronic health records to improve patient care and health quality,” said Glozer.

Pulse began certifying its products in 2006 and the Pulse Complete EHR was first to receive CCHIT 2011 Complete Certification and among the first to receive ONC-ATCB certification.* This history of certification and specifically the CCHIT 2011 certification provides physicians with maximum assurance they can receive all Meaningful Use payments starting in January 2011.

Pulse supports ambulatory physician offices through software that seamlessly integrates clinical, financial and administrative processes into one comprehensive solution. Pulse’s EHR and Practice Management solutions optimize productivity throughout the practice, allowing organizations to provide outstanding care at a lower cost.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to work with VHQC and look forward to helping physicians achieve Meaningful Use and capitalize on our already strong presence in Virginia,” stated Basil Hourani, CEO of Pulse Systems, Inc.

Pulse and the VHIT will work together to offer Meaningful Use training, support and verification to ensure practices meet meaningful use stages. 2011 Pulse Complete EHR has already been selected as an EHR partner by RECs in Arizona, Texas, Florida, Nebraska, and Tennessee.
