Hillary Ebach to become vice president, general counsel for Journal Media Group

MILWAUKEE--()--Journal Media Group (NYSE: JMG) announced today that Hillary Ebach will join the company as vice president, general counsel, effective May 11. She will lead the company’s legal activities, oversee the internal audit function and serve as corporate secretary.

Ebach joins Journal Media Group from Chicago-based Wrapports, LLC, owner of the Chicago Sun-Times and a portfolio of digital businesses, where she served nearly two years as executive vice president, legal and administration. In this role, she acted as general counsel and also served as corporate secretary.

Previously, she served for six years as executive vice president of Lurie Investments, Inc., in Chicago. From 1997 to 2007 she was an attorney with Seyfarth Shaw, LLP, in Chicago, where she was named partner in 2002. While at Seyfarth Shaw she managed legal work in connection with clients’ acquisition, disposition and financing activities and provided counsel with respect to corporate governance and related matters.

Ebach began her career as a commercial banking officer for Harris Trust and Savings Bank in Chicago.

Ebach earned her Juris Doctor from Northwestern University in 1993, her Master of Business Administration from University of Chicago in 1989 and her Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University in 1985.
