About Sansan System (Graphic: Business Wire)

TOKYO--()--Sansan, Inc., the #1 contact management service provider in Japan, today announced it has launched its self-titled service in the United States. Sansan was founded on the concept of being able to share the information collected on business cards with co-workers. Sansan took the service they had in Japan and restyled it for the US market, making it a freemium, mobile-first contact sharing service. The company recently announced that it raised $14 million from VC firm DCM and strategic investors such as salesforce.com and that it has partnered with large US based companies such as Dell Inc. Utilizing the know-how and experience of these partners, Sansan already has more than 300 company users with the beta version and aims to create a new market for contact sharing in the US.

“We want to transform the way organizations leverage their contacts” said the Sansan CEO Chika Terada. “Our product is simple yet provides a very powerful tool to upload and organize information collected from business cards. I believe that Sansan will contribute to improving business people’s productivity.”

“Business cards are very pervasive worldwide, therefore a business card contact sharing service naturally brings great value to a large audience,” said Jason Krikorian, general partner at DCM. “But Sansan goes beyond just business card management and offers tools that enhance the way organizations think about, and interact with their relationships. This is powerful stuff.”
