ZUG, Switzerland & LINZ, Austria--()--The sixth annual EuroMedtech™ partnering conference, held May 7–8, 2014, wrapped up in Linz, Austria last week. The event reported an 82% increase in licensing opportunities at the event, indicating a surge in medtech innovation and the increasing role of collaboration in medtech industry business strategies.

“The event was buzzing with activity this year, with substantial increases in both licensing opportunities and partnering meetings,” said Florian Schoenhammer, Group Managing Director, EBD Group. “We have consistently received input from medtech industry leaders that partnering is extremely valuable to them. The numbers this year are the strongest indicator we have seen that the industry is evolving, and partnering has emerged as the major business strategy for bringing medical devices and technologies to market.”

The event attracted 265 dealmakers from 183 companies representing 21 countries. Delegates participated in 749 one-to-one meetings, a 25% increase over 2013. The event also featured presentations by 27 of the most exciting international medtech companies.
