Business Wire Names Marty Feil Vice President, News Systems and Technologies

SAN FRANCISCO--()--Marty Feil, the architect of several key data monitoring, editorial workflow, and accounting applications during his more than 18-year affiliation with Business Wire, has been named the company's vice president of news systems and technologies.

Feil was brought in as a consultant in 1995, and came on board in a full-time capacity in 2010 as director of software engineering - news systems technology.

He designed and built several bespoke applications that improved the productivity of numerous departments, ranging from sales/client services, to editorial/newsroom operations, to accounts receivable. Most recently, Feil implemented Salesforce as the company's new CRM system, and developed customized interfaces to synchronize data with legacy internal systems.

In his new role, Feil assumes supervisory responsibility for the three core teams: News, Database Administrators, and Quality Assurance. He reports to Steve Messick, Business Wire's chief information officer.

"My focus will be on maintaining the performance and reliability of our applications, and to facilitate communication between our various technical teams, and our diverse user base," said Feil.
