TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Northern Trust announced today that Arti Sharma has joined as head of The Northern Trust Company, Canada. Based in Toronto, Sharma is responsible for all of Northern Trust’s operations in the Canadian market.
Sharma joins Northern Trust from Mercer, where she was a principal and Custody Practice leader and responsible for Business Development for Mercer Sentinel services.

As a principal and head of business development at Mercer, Sharma was responsible for the growth and development of the custody practice. Prior to that, she was senior vice president at Thomas Murray North America, where she was the first regional head for North America as part of the organization’s global expansion. Before joining Thomas Murray, she worked at CIBC Mellon in executive management and sales positions.
