MINNEAPOLIS--()--TE Connectivity today announced that its distributed antenna system (DAS) products are helping Major League Baseball stadium owners and service providers across the country deliver high-quality mobile services for capacity crowds. TE’s InterReach Spectrum, InterReach Fusion, and FlexWave Prism DAS products have been deployed to upgrade mobile coverage at Major League Baseball stadiums across the country. TE’s DAS will help ensure that baseball fans can use voice and data services, even during capacity-crowd events. Fans can call, text, send photos, post to social media sites and access the Internet through 3G and 4G networks and share their experience with their friends and families.

Some of the stadiums recently outfitted with TE DAS gear include:

  • The Ballpark at Arlington, home of the Texas Rangers
  • Citifield, home of the New York Mets
  • Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins
  • Yankee Stadium, home of the New York Yankees

“Baseball fans expect a first-class experience when attending games, and part of that is being able to use their mobile wherever they are in the stadium whether they’re monitoring other league news, sharing updates with friends, or voting on the player of the game,” said Joseph Mullin, senior vice president of DAS engineering at InSite Wireless Group, LLC, the neutral host operator that deployed the TE DAS serving major mobile operators at Target Field in Minneapolis. “TE’s DAS products give us the broad wireless coverage and capacity we need to deliver mobile services from major operators to all subscribers in a stadium like Target Field.”

TE DAS systems are deployed in more than 50 baseball, football, and soccer stadiums around the world and deliver precision, high-capacity wireless services for major mobile operators. TE’s DAS solutions deliver the required capacity with minimal deployment time and expenses. The mobile network capacity provided through the TE DAS systems helps eliminate dropped calls, slow browsing, and other issues that visitors to large events typically experience. Previously, TE DAS installations at baseball stadiums included Coors Field (home of the Colorado Rockies), Great American Ballpark (home of the Cincinnati Reds), and Turner Field (home of the Atlanta Braves).

“As we gear up for the playoff season, fans expect quality mobile services inside of stadiums,” said Peter Wraight, vice president and general manager of Wireless at TE Connectivity. “Our DAS products are an important part of making that happen for major mobile operators.”
