(JAM) is pleased to announce that it has completed an agreement to manage the Ramones, alongside Dave Frey of Silent Partner Management, overseeing the legendary punk rockers’ music, film, name, likeness, apparel, licensing and other ventures in all media, worldwide.

In addition to his 12-year tenure with the Ramones, Dave Frey of Silent Partner Management managed Blues Traveler, Cheap Trick, Brazilian Girls and founded HORDE Festival. Says Frey, “I’m certain Jeff and JAM’s core competencies are going to bring greater opportunities to Ramones; Jeff has a innate ability to establish the right balance between credibility and commerce.”
After Johnny, Joey, Dee Dee and Tommy Ramone formed the Ramones in Forest Hills, New York in 1974, the band went on to blaze a trail for a legion of followers around the world with a string of punk-rock masterpieces, including “Blitzkrieg Bop,” “Sheena Is A Punk Rocker,” “Rock ’n’ Roll High School” and “I Wanna Be Sedated.”
Together for more than 20 years, the Ramones featured several different members, including drummers Marky (1978-83, 1987-96), Richie (1983-87), and Elvis (1987), as well as bassist C.J. (1989-96).
Over the years, the Ramones’ groundbreaking sound — a potent mix of garage-rock ethos, breakneck tempos and razor-sharp pop sensibility — made an indelible impact on a diverse group of musicians like: The Clash, Green Day, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Foo Fighters and Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, who would go on to induct the band into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The Ramones recorded 14 studio albums and four official live albums. Its first four releases — Ramones (1976), Leave Home (1977), Rocket to Russia (1977) and Road to Ruin (1978) — are considered landmarks and established a high standard for future generations of punk rockers. The band toured constantly throughout its career, including 74 performances at the legendary New York club CBGB’s. The Ramones played its 2,263rd and final concert on August 6, 1996 in Los Angeles. Sadly, three of the four founding member have passed away since that show, including Joey (2001), Dee Dee (2002) and Johnny (2004).
The Ramones will celebrate their 40th anniversary in 2015, while the group’s musical legacy continues to grow. The group has been listed among the “50 Greatest Artists of All Time” by Rolling Stone, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002 and awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.
