GLASGOW, Scotland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--UK Cloud company iomart Group plc is proud to announce that its 2013 summer sports campaign Host Your Kit has helped take basketball to the community of Lochgoilhead, in Argyll in the Scottish Highlands.
The village has just launched its own basketball club after iomart’s summer sports campaign Host Your Kit partnered with the sport’s national body basketballscotland to donate equipment and coaching to help the children of the small coastal community to learn to play.

Basketball is growing in popularity in Scotland and to be able to facilitate the start of a basketball club in Lochgoilhead is a very proud moment for us.”
The cloud company also arranged for former Scotland international Rebecca Cumming to deliver an introductory coaching session on behalf of basketballscotland who are in the process of creating a regional development league for Argyll and Bute in which the new Lochgoilhead club will be encouraged to participate.
Kevin Pringle, chief executive of basketballscotland said: “Our key objective is to increase the number of players and volunteers participating in basketball in Scotland on a regular basis. We’ve already got 3900 active members with more than 2000 of them being under the age of 18, so to have basketball being played by potentially another 40 children in Lochgoilhead is a fantastic achievement.”
