BLOOMFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cigna (NYSE: CI) has announced David Figliuzzi, 44, of Hartford, Conn., as the new executive director of the Cigna Foundation. In this role, Figliuzzi will steer the foundation as it supports worthy charitable organizations and programs that align with Cigna's mission to help people improve their health, well-being and sense of security.
Figliuzzi has been with Cigna for 19 years, most recently in the company’s Total Health and Network organization. He has lived in Hartford since 2001.

Figliuzzi has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Western Connecticut State University and a Master of Science in Health Services Administration degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

The foundation is celebrating its 50th anniversary throughout 2013, and continues its long-standing support of the March of Dimes and the United Way, as well as assisting more than 100 additional charitable organizations since the October 2012 anniversary date.
