FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--()--World-renowned Danish architect Bjarke Ingels delivered an extraordinary presentation to a packed Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale auditorium on June 3, highlighting recent construction as well as current plans from his architectural firm BIG. Ingels demonstrated how challenges such as space for parking, zoning restrictions, or limited land could be converted into breathtaking monuments to ingenuity and sustainability.

Ingels spoke about the breadth of his recent designs, and then concentrated on his current South Florida focus. Ingles described the vision behind his design for Marina Lofts in Fort Lauderdale to an enthusiastic crowd.

“I believe Fort Lauderdale is a community that is specially suited for Marina Lofts,” Ingels said. “There is a renewed desire for sustainable urban living here, and the city skyline would benefit from Marina Lofts’ iconic appearance.”

Asi Cymbal, Marina Lofts' developer, received the overflowing crowd.

“This was a great opportunity for our Fort Lauderdale community to experience Bjarke Ingels in person and be as inspired as I have been," Cymbal said.

"Marina Lofts is about Fort Lauderdale realizing its full potential: Iconic architecture, affordable luxury rental housing, respecting our marine industry, preserving our historic uses, being a model for eco-friendly development, and creating generous public spaces in our urban core."
