NIWOT, Colo.--()--Crocs, Inc. (NASDAQ: CROX), the global footwear leader known for bringing comfort to the world’s feet, today announced the company’s chief operating officer Scott Crutchfield has been named one of Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s “Pros to Know” award winners. Supply & Demand Chain Executive is an international business-to-business publication that addresses supply chain-related issues and challenges, and recognizes industry leaders with an annual “Pros to Know” award.

Crutchfield was recognized for proactively addressing potential challenges associated with managing a global supply chain. In 2012, Crutchfield began implementing an SAP enterprise resource program, streamlined responsibilities at distribution centers, led lean manufacturing initiatives, diversified manufacturing locations, and helped publish Crocs’ first sustainability report.

“As Crocs continues its global growth, a seamless supply chain is more important than ever,” said Crutchfield. “Not only do we deliver more than 300 footwear styles to 90 countries around the world on a daily basis, but we have created a low touch supply chain that manufactures and delivers that product in the most cost-effective manner possible.”

Honoring the supply chain’s best and brightest, Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s “Pros to Know” includes professionals proactively working to improve their organization’s business functions in a number of categories—including manufacturing and production output; procurement; logistics; risk mitigation strategies; sourcing; financial operations; packaging and distribution; transportation; and much more.

“The number of issues that can present themselves in one’s business truly run the gamut—from a dysfunctional product component found within a manufacturer’s tier three level of the supply chain to clarifying a business’s procurement strategy for reduced costs,” said Barry Hochfelder, editor, Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “The depth and breadth of supply chain challenges is not always clear. Professionals like Crutchfield who work to overcome such issues and grow the global supply chain at the same time deserve recognition for their achievements.”

Now in its 13th year, the Supply & Demand Chain Executive “Pros to Know” awards recognize both ends of the supply chain. This includes honoring the “providers” -- individuals from software firms, service providers, consultancies or academia who helped their supply chain clients or the supply chain community prepare to meet industry challenges. This also includes honoring the “practitioners,” -- those supply chain executives who demonstrated leadership by managing risk in the supply chain; provided competitive advantage; and delivered value to the bottom line.

Supply & Demand Chain Executive issued a call for entries in the last quarter of 2012. Beginning in January 2013, the publication’s editorial selection committee reviewed close to 400 entries to find the applicants that best fit the criteria.

The full list of 2013 “Pros to Know” award winners became available Feb. 14 on www.sdcexec.com. The expanded awards coverage and winners list will appear in the March 2013 issue of Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine and online thereafter.
