(SWSC) and Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), the organization that encourages young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens, today announced plans for the first annual SWSC Teen Leadership Award to be presented in Washington, D.C. this September.
“As an alumnus, I’m a huge supporter of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America,” said Shaun White, two-time Olympic gold medalist. “I grew up going to the local club in San Diego and it really helped me during rough times, so I’m stoked to give back.”
With more than 1,800 teens gathered in Atlanta at the BGCA’s 46th National Keystone Conference to discuss issues facing young people, White delivered a personal message revealing that the first annual SWSC Teen Leadership Award will be presented during this year’s Congressional Convention to six outstanding young people who demonstrate strong character, citizenship and live healthy lifestyles.
“Not only has Shaun always supported our organization, but he is a real inspiration to our Club members,” said Frank Sanchez, Vice President, Sports & Entertainment, Boys & Girls Clubs of America. “We are thrilled to partner with Supply Co. to present this annual award to six deserving teens.”
As part of the SWSC Teen Leadership Award, each recipient will receive a scholarship fund, along with a personalized Supply Co. package.
