MONTREAL & CAMBRIDGE, England--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bluestreak Technology Inc., a proven leader in delivering software presentation solutions on wired and wireless embedded devices, and Amino Communications, the world leading developer of pure IPTV and hybrid/OTT devices and solutions, today announced from TelcoTV 2010 that they have partnered to provide new interactive television solutions to IPTV and to cable operators. The joint solution integrates Bluestreak Technology’s MachBlue family of application platform products with Amino’s Freedom DVB-T hybrid/OTT media center to deliver web services, Internet video, and applications to the TV.
“Televisions are quickly becoming the primary source for accessing digital services, including live and on-demand television programming, telecommunications products like VoIP and videoconferencing, Internet services and applications, and Over-The-Top (OTT) video,” said Dominique Jodoin, Bluestreak Technology CEO and President. “As a result, our IPTV and cable operator customers are repeatedly turning to Bluestreak Technology to optimize all of these services through a common client and application environment so they can rapidly offer consumers a wide range of services around television entertainment experiences. Companies, like Amino, deliver the powerful, high quality hardware and software necessary for Bluestreak Technology to seamlessly deliver the converged digital services that make it easy and fun for consumers to discover and consume content and web services.”
The joint solution runs on the Amino Freedom hybrid/OTT media center which, like Google TV, features the powerful Intel® Atom™ processor CE4100. It has been specially designed to help meet growing consumer demand for TV-based OTT video entertainment and support a wide variety of entertainment services from broadcast TV, Video-on-Demand, home media, games, and other applications.
“IPTV companies and cable operators are searching for the best ways to rapidly deliver a wide variety of web, telephony, and television services through a single, easy-to-use experience,” said Andrew Burke, CEO Amino Technologies plc. “By combining compelling presentation experiences, such as Bluestreak Technology’s, with Amino’s robust hardware and MeegoTV software capabilities, we are accelerating our customers’ time to market and delivering the new types of converged entertainment experiences that consumers demand. We are pleased to partner with Bluestreak Technology to support their upcoming customer deployments and we look forward to working with them more in the future.”
