Azaleos and M3 Technology Group Merger Creates Dominant Market Leader for Remotely Managed Microsoft Exchange Services

Combined Companies Have Staff and East/West Coast Operations Centers to Support Largest Customers; Unveil New Managed Active Directory Service

SEATTLE & CHARLOTTE, N.C.--()--Azaleos® Corporation, the managed Microsoft Exchange services company, and M3 Technology Group (M3TG) today announced they have merged their businesses to become the market’s leading provider of remotely managed Microsoft Exchange and related services. The combined companies, which will operate under the Azaleos brand, now have the technical support resources as well as East and West coast network operations centers necessary to support even the largest organizations. The new company’s customers include Chiquita, Alcon, Wendy’s/Arby’s, and Extended Stay. Azaleos also announced the immediate availability of ADXchange, a new monitoring and management service for Active Directory.

Leading research firms estimate the worldwide remote infrastructure services market at $20 billion at the close of 2008, and forecast it could grow to approximately $40 billion by the end of 2012. Additionally, they estimate that by 2012, 70% of all North American companies will have remote infrastructure service contracts.

The new company, which will be headed by the current Azaleos management team and retain most of the service, support, and professional services employees from both organizations, has the highest concentration of Exchange and Unified Communications expertise outside of Microsoft. Customers will now be supported by two network operations centers in the United States, one in Seattle and one in Charlotte. The combined companies will also continue to work with their existing reseller partners led by IBM Professional Services.

“The merger of Azaleos and M3 Technology Group is a seamless technology and business marriage for both companies that establishes us as the clear market leader in the managed Exchange market,” said Phil Van Etten, Chief Executive Officer of Azaleos. “Together we have the size, scale, and bi-coastal operations to service organizations from the mid-market all the way up to the largest enterprises.”

“As soon as we began our initial business conversations, we knew this was a natural fit for both companies,” said Tony Prince, CEO and president of M3 Technology Group. “The combined companies have the resources, expertise, and skilled personnel to capitalize on the very large market opportunity that exists for an on-premise and remotely managed alternative to hosted Exchange e-mail services.”

ADXchange – Remotely Managed Active Directory

Companies depend on Active Directory (AD) as their primary tool to manage the identities and relationships that make up network environments. Its proper functioning is critical to the network and the many applications, such as Exchange, relying on it. The first immediate by-product of the Azaleos and M3TG merger is a new remotely managed service for on-premise Active Directory called ADXchange. AD administration, including directory consolidation, identity management and DNS configuration, is a manual, time consuming, and ongoing process. With ADXchange, an organization’s Active Directory infrastructure is managed remotely by experts in the Azaleos network operations center. To prevent downtime and free up internal IT resources for line of business technology initiatives ADXchange provides continuous monitoring, management, and patching of Active Directory.

Most Comprehensive Suite of Managed Exchange Services

The combination of Azaleos and M3TG enables organizations to source from one supplier the most complete and reliable set of remotely managed services for Exchange, Blackberry Enterprise Server, and now also Active Directory. These include:
