The MoTV Awards are made possible through the support of the Official Co-Sponsors Quick Play and Mobile Media.
The MoTV Awards recognize and reward outstanding achievement in mobile television creation by independent artists. Awards will be granted in the following categories: Best Mobile Content, Audience choice Award and the Fun Little Movies Award for Best Comedy. The influential audience, comprised of television and wireless content executives, will determine the Audience Choice and Fun Little Movies Award for Best Comedy via live SMS voting.
All winners receive a suite of mobile video encoding products (Nero's Showtime 7 software) from NERO, a copy of Movie Magic screenwriting software, a ZVUE MP4 player from Handheld Entertainment and complimentary website hosting from NeTV. Additionally, the winner in the comedy category will receive a licensing contract from Fun Little Movies providing for royalties and worldwide distribution of their film, and a portable media device courtesy of OOH! TV.
Judges will be looking for creativity, originality, technical clarity, and most importantly, the potential to be developed into a mobile series.
"We believe the first big mobile video hit will come from an independent creator," says Frank Chindamo, President and Chief Creative Officer of Fun Little Movies, "Thanks to Sprint's belief in our company, we now have great distribution, and it's our pleasure to share that with other independents. We're Indies celebrating Indies."
"This is an exciting time in the evolution of the worldwide mobile entertainment market, which is expected to reach 28.8 billion by 2008," added Michael Stroud, CEO of iHollywood Forum, "We're pleased to host the MoTV Awards at our Mobile ++ conference and especially to provide valuable exposure for mobile content's emerging new artists."
Immediately following the awards, there will be a live video press conference with the winners. Journalists interested in participating should register at: http://www.mobilemediafest.com/press/
