The primary application allows physicians to retrieve and view the complete patient record at the point of care from a single user interface, compiled from information across multiple systems but delivered in a simple, contextualized user interface that is familiar to them. Geisinger saves hundreds of thousands of dollars in manual paper handling costs as a result of moving to electronic record management, having virtually eliminated the notion of manual chart pulls, allowing for maintenance of one major data repository instead of hundreds.
