Interview with Producer of ChinaJoy 2014
BEIJING--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Following the press conference for ChinaJoy 2014 held at Shanghai International Convention Center on June 19, 2014, Han Zhihai, Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee of ChinaJoy, Secretary-General of Mobile Game Entrepreneur Alliance (MGEA), and General Manager of Howell International Trade Fair Ltd., and several VIPs were interviewed jointly by 17173, Global Times, Tencent Games, Sina Games, 1 games and Gao7.
Mr. Han introduced the highlights of ChinaJoy 2014 and experience from the previous events. At the request of 1 games, he compared ChinaJoy with its overseas counterparts citing multiple figures: an exhibition area of approximately 100,000m2, over 500 exhibitors, more than 700 new products, over 1,500 devices for on-site user experience, 250,000 visitors expected, and the 26,000m2 BTOB Area, together with business and technical conferences including CDEC, CGBC, CGDC and WMGC to form a comprehensive international industry expo platform – with a capability far beyond other game events worldwide.
According to Mr. Han, the most interesting part of the upcoming ChinaJoy will be “one focus and two highlights”. “One focus” refers to mobile games. The World Mobile Game Conference initiated last year will see an exhibition area of over 13,000m2 this year, attracting at least 300 exhibitors and over 30,000 trade visitors from over 20 countries and regions. One of the two highlights will be the Next-gen Arcade Console and Home Entertainment Expo (ACH).With opportunities for consoles expanding after the establishment of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Microsoft and Sony will jointly present their consoles and console games at ChinaJoy. The other highlight will be the World Digital Entertainment Intellectual Property Cooperation Conference (WIPCON). In the past two years, as intellectual property (IP) of mobile games gained popularity, copyright cooperation in television, film, literature and animation increased. The first WIPCON will be presented to gather speakers from film & television, animation, games and literature industries to share their successful experience.

ChinaJoy has grown from a domestic event focusing on online games only into a comprehensive international exhibition, covering the whole digital entertainment industry chain, including online games, web games, mobile games, console games and digital products.
