Care Center Earns American Animal Hospital Association Accreditation in Both Traditional and Referral Categories
CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Care Center, one of Ohio’s leaders in providing 24/7 emergency and specialty veterinary care, is pleased to announce it has earned the American Animal Hospital Association’s (AAHA) highest honor of accreditation at its Cincinnati and Dayton locations, earning both Traditional and Referral Accreditation. They are currently the only veterinary hospitals in the region that hold such distinction of dual-accreditation.
“Having high standards in veterinary medicine is important because our patients and their owners deserve unsurpassed quality care”
The voluntary Traditional Hospital accreditation process includes a 900-point evaluation that assesses patient care and pain management, surgery, pharmacy, laboratory, exam facilities, medical records, cleanliness, emergency services, diagnostic imaging, anesthesiology, and continuing education. Additionally as a specialty and referral practice, they earned Referral Accreditation in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Surgery, and Emergency/Critical Care. Care Center joins an elite group, as only 12-15 percent of all small animal hospitals in the U.S. and Canada have achieved Accreditation.
“Having high standards in veterinary medicine is important because our patients and their owners deserve unsurpassed quality care,” said Doug Hoffman, DVM, Founder and Co-Owner of Care Center. “Becoming AAHA Accredited is a way for us to align ourselves with a first-rate organization that will not only demand the highest standards, but will hold us accountable to them.”
Unlike human hospitals, animal hospitals are not required to be accredited. AAHA-accredited hospitals are recognized among the finest in the industry and are consistently at the forefront of advanced veterinary medicine. To maintain accredited status, hospitals undergo comprehensive on-site evaluations every three years.
