Visionworks Announces Launch of Eco Born Recycled Eyewear in Syracuse Area Stores
Optical retailer supports sustainability, offers frames made from recycled materials
SYRACUSE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Visionworks today announced that select stores in the Syracuse market will carry Eco Born Recycled frames, the only eyewear frames in the world made from recycled materials. Visionworks will support Eco’s mission to plant trees for each pair of glasses sold, as well as encourage customers to recycle used glasses.
“More and more customers are making sustainable products a priority in their purchase decisions so we are proud to be able to offer frames made from recycled materials that support sustainable efforts, without sacrificing style or quality”
“More and more customers are making sustainable products a priority in their purchase decisions so we are proud to be able to offer frames made from recycled materials that support sustainable efforts, without sacrificing style or quality,” Jim Eisen, president of Visionworks, said.
Eco Born Recycled frames are designed by boutique eyewear firm Modo and are certified by UL Environment, the leading independent agency for environment claims certification. The frames, which are made from 95 percent recycled materials, come in several fashion-forward styles and on-trend colors.
To see a video with more details about the sustainability and social responsibility efforts of Eco, consumers may visit www.visionworks.com/promos/eco. On the video, visitors can also see several frame styles, as well as a list of Visionworks store locations across the country that carry the Eco line.
Each time a customer purchases a pair of Eco Born Recycled glasses at Visionworks, a new tree will be planted in Cameroon, a country with several areas of degraded land that is being replenished with the help of the nearly one million trees planted by Eco. Additionally, Eco Born Recycled encourages customers to donate their used glasses. With the purchase of a pair of Eco frames, each customer will be given a postage paid envelope to send in their old glasses to be recycled.
“Partnering with a brand like Eco allows us to join exciting efforts to rebuild deforested areas, as well as encourage recycling. These social responsibility efforts are a win-win for us and for our customers, an important element to support our ‘A Better You’ brand promise,” Eisen said.
Eco frames are available at 2921 Erie Blvd. and 3109 West Genesee Street in Syracuse, as well as the Canal Place Shopping Center at 1319 Erie Boulevard West in Rome, 6859 East Genesee Street in Fayetteville and 125 Lawrence Road East in North Syracuse.
