Wolters Kluwer names Alberto de Benito Aznar General Manager of Audit & Assurance

Experienced Wolters Kluwer executive returns to the business as it expands its integrated assurance platform and advances its AI strategy

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Wolters Kluwer, a global leader in professional information, software solutions and services, today announced the appointment of Alberto de Benito Aznar as General Manager of its Audit & Assurance business, part of the Corporate Performance & ESG division.

De Benito Aznar returns to a business and market he knows well. He began his Wolters Kluwer career more than 10 years ago in Corporate Strategy and subsequently led operations for Audit & Assurance before serving most recently as General Manager of Corporate Tax.

“Alberto brings a strong combination of strategic, operational and commercial leadership to Audit & Assurance,” said Maria Montenegro, CEO of Corporate Performance & ESG at Wolters Kluwer. “His leadership of Corporate Tax, combined with his previous experience in Audit & Assurance, gives him a valuable perspective as we build on TeamMate’s strong position in internal audit and expand further into risk and compliance.”

Driving the next phase

Wolters Kluwer Audit & Assurance is expanding TeamMate beyond its foundation in internal audit to support a broader range of assurance activities. The addition of StandardFusion, now TeamMate Risk & Compliance, extends the platform into risk and compliance, advancing a more integrated approach that connects audit, risk, controls and compliance.

“AI has significant potential to strengthen how audit, risk and compliance professionals work,” said de Benito Aznar. “Professionals need AI that understands the context behind their work and supports transparency, governance and professional judgment. Our vision is to bring AI directly into those workflows while giving customers the flexibility to connect the enterprise AI tools they already use.”

TeamMate’s AI strategy is grounded in the broader Wolters Kluwer Expert AI framework, drawing on domain expertise, responsible AI practices and technology investment across professional markets where accuracy, confidentiality and informed judgment matter.
