800.com’s AI Receptionist Now Books Calendly Appointments During Live Calls

800 AI Agents check live Calendly availability and follow existing scheduling rules to book callers when business teams can’t answer.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--800.com today launched a Calendly integration that lets 800 AI Agents, the company’s AI receptionist, book appointments while the caller is still on the phone. The integration is available on all 800.com plans with 800 AI Agents enabled and is built for any business who loses bookings, jobs or appointments to missed and after-hours calls.

Voicemail leaves callers waiting for a callback, and many won’t wait. With Calendly connected, an 800 AI Agent offers open times and books the appointment on the original call.

“When someone calls your business and gets voicemail, they don’t wait for a callback. They call the next business,” said Tom English, VP of Marketing at 800.com. “Our Calendly integration lets an 800 AI Agent answer and book the appointment while you’re with a client or the office is closed.”

How the integration works

Businesses connect Calendly to 800.com and choose the event type their 800 AI Agent will use. During the call, the agent checks Calendly for open times and books the slot the caller chooses. Bookings follow that event type’s existing rules, including appointment length and minimum notice, so there is nothing to re-create for phone bookings. Appointments appear on the calendar connected to Calendly, and Calendly sends confirmations and reminders based on the business’s current settings.

Businesses can forward missed calls to an 800 AI Agent while keeping the number their customers already know. The integration adds appointment booking to 800.com’s call routing and call tracking, so every call a business pays to generate has a path to a booked appointment.

“Our customers kept telling us the same thing: they were paying to make the phone ring, then losing those callers to voicemail,” said Christina Reynolds, Product Marketing Manager at 800.com. “Most of them already had their availability set up in Calendly. Now a missed call can end with a booked appointment instead of a callback.”

Availability

The integration is available now. Setup requires an active paid Calendly account, at least one active event type and permission to authorize the connection. Learn more at 800.com/calendly.
