Blueprint Equity Expands Team to Deepen Founder Support and Scale Its Value Creation Platform
Firm adds talent across investing, value creation, and AI functions as it builds the infrastructure behind its founder-focused model
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Blueprint Equity (Blueprint), a San Diego-based growth equity firm focused on enterprise software, B2B and technology-enabled services businesses, today announced a series of new hires that expand the firm’s capabilities across investing and post-investment support. Building on the momentum of its $333 million Fund III, Blueprint's new hires reflect the firm's commitment to identifying the most promising investment opportunities and supporting founders through earlier stages of professionalization and growth.
After recent momentum, Blueprint is scaling with intention. Since February 2026, Blueprint has added nine employees, representing 75% team growth and 21 total employees. The expansion includes new capabilities in artificial intelligence, value creation and investment execution, reinforcing Blueprint’s differentiated approach of pairing capital with hands-on operating support. For portfolio companies, this means more resources to recruit leadership, modernize engineering organizations, sharpen go-to-market execution and build the systems needed to scale with greater rigor.
The hires include Kaila Russell as Director of Talent; Paul Koch as Head of Artificial Intelligence; Torian Riley as Senior Associate of Value Creation; Jack Pimental and Travis Tung as Associates; Grace Maloney as Senior Analyst; and Tyler Hibberd, Kylie Pitzak and Oly Ugorji as Analysts.
“Our model has always been about giving founders more than capital. Blueprint’s nine new team members strengthen the infrastructure behind that promise, with deeper capabilities across investing, value creation and AI that help founders build durable businesses without losing what makes them special,” said Bobby Ocampo, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Blueprint Equity.
The new team members bring experience from growth equity, investment banking, executive search, operating leadership, and technical product development. Russell joins after advising early-stage founders on building product, engineering and go-to-market teams, and previously scaling talent functions internally. Koch brings decades of engineering leadership experience, including seven years as CTO of Chatmeter, where he helped architect the company’s platform and supported its sale to a private equity firm. Riley adds post-acquisition integration and commercial optimization experience, while the investing team additions further expand Blueprint’s capacity to source and support vertical software and AI-native companies.
“We’ve always prioritized talent at Blueprint, and our recent hires reflect that discipline,” said Sheldon Lewis, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Blueprint Equity. “These additions deepen our capacity on both sides of the platform: sourcing the best companies earlier in their journey, and bringing more hands-on operating support to those companies once we partner with them. As we deploy Fund III, that combination of sharper origination and deeper value creation is exactly where we want the added horsepower.”
Earlier this year, Blueprint announced the close of Fund III, underscoring the firm’s continued momentum and long-term commitment to founder-led, capital-efficient businesses. The firm’s value creation team works closely with management teams on talent, growth strategy and operational execution, and these hires further institutionalize that support as a core part of the Blueprint model.
