Betterworks Launches New AI Capabilities That Connect Performance Data to AI Assistants

New Model Context Protocol (MCP) capabilities enable AI agents to securely access Betterworks performance data, helping organizations move from reactive work to proactive execution.

MENLO PARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AI assistants are changing how work gets done, but they’re only as useful as the business context they can access. Today, Betterworks announced the beta launch of its Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, enabling organizations to securely connect Betterworks performance data with AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, and other MCP-compatible tools.

“We’re moving beyond a world where AI simply responds to prompts,” said Doug Dennerline, CEO of Betterworks. “The next generation of AI will understand what’s happening across your business and proactively surface the insights that need your attention. By giving AI trusted performance intelligence, we’re helping leaders spend less time searching for information and more time coaching their teams, making better decisions, and driving business results.”

Putting Performance Intelligence Into Everyday AI

Many organizations already use AI assistants to prepare for performance reviews, summarize information, and identify workforce trends. Until now, Betterworks data had to be manually gathered before those tools could deliver meaningful insights. Without building custom integrations, exporting reports, or logging into multiple applications, leaders, managers, and HR teams can now simply ask natural-language questions about goals, recognition, team performance, and organizational insights directly from their AI assistant.

Managers can simply ask:

  • “Help me prepare for my 1:1 with Jordan, including goal progress…”
  • “Which of my team goals are at risk this quarter?”
  • “Summarize recognition trends across my team.”
  • “Create a leadership update highlighting my team and our performance…”

Instead of spending time gathering information, Betterworks helps managers prepare for coaching conversations, identify emerging risks, and generate leadership-ready updates. By making trusted performance context instantly accessible, organizations can move faster, respond sooner, and make more confident talent decisions.

Built for Enterprise Trust

Security remains foundational to the experience. Every interaction respects Betterworks’ existing authentication and native permission model, ensuring users only access the information they already have permission to see. Organizations can confidently extend sensitive performance data into AI workflows without introducing new access controls or compromising governance.

Available in Beta Today

The Betterworks MCP Server is available today in beta for customers. The initial release provides secure access to Betterworks goals, teams, users, recognition, and hashtags, with additional capabilities and use cases to be supported as releases follow throughout the year. As organizations increasingly adopt AI across the workplace, Betterworks is making trusted, current performance and talent intelligence available wherever decisions happen—helping leaders act with greater speed, confidence, and context.
