Bakelite Releases 2025 Sustainability Update, Highlighting Strong Performance and Progress Toward 2030 Goals

Improvements Across Energy, Water, Waste, and Safety Performance Reflect a Year of Disciplined Execution

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bakelite (“the Company”) today released its 2025 Sustainability Update, highlighting strong results across its environmental, social, and governance priorities and continued advancement toward its 2030 sustainability goals.

The report reflects a year of consistent execution, with improvements driven by site-level initiatives and supported by strengthened global systems and processes.

In 2025, Bakelite achieved the following outcomes, measured against a 2023 baseline:

  • An 8.5% reduction in energy intensity
  • A 27.0% reduction in water intensity
  • An 11.4% reduction in waste
  • A 44% improvement in safety performance

The Company also strengthened the systems underpinning its sustainability strategy. During the year, Bakelite:

  • Completed its first Double Materiality Assessment
  • Conducted a Climate Risk Assessment aligned with TCFD recommendations
  • Achieved ISO 27001 certification for Information Security Management
