ACA Group Expands U.S. Footprint with New Durham, N.C. Office

Continued Investment in Technology and Innovation Supports ACA’s Growth and Strengthens In-House Technology Capabilities

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ACA Group (ACA), the leading governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) advisor in financial services, has established its newest office in Durham, North Carolina. The new location serves as ACA's innovation and technology center, housing a growing team of engineers, data scientists, and product developers focused on advancing ComplianceAlpha®, ACA’s compliance technology platform.

On May 4, 2026, the doors officially opened at the Durham office, which marks a significant step in ACA's strategy to in-source its technology development capabilities and own its product roadmap, bringing engineering talent and intellectual property control to an in-house team. ACA will continue hiring in Durham over the coming year as part of its broader investment in technology talent.

The Durham office continues a pattern of strategic, U.S.-based investment in ACA's operational infrastructure, following the 2014 establishment of the company's Pittsburgh office.

"Durham gives us access to exceptional technology talent, and the ability to build a culture of curiosity and ownership that an outsourced model simply cannot replicate,” said Tucker Nance, Partner, at ACA Group. “We chose Durham for all of the reasons this region has become a destination for technology – the research universities, the growing talent base, the quality of life – and we're already so encouraged by what we've built that we expect to expand our footprint here."

Durham and the broader Research Triangle region have emerged as one of the country's fastest-growing technology hubs. ACA selected Durham specifically for its deep and diverse technology talent pipeline, collaborative community, and the region's distinctive technology culture.

The Durham team is primarily focused on developing ACA's compliance technology offerings, including its ComplianceAlpha® platform. ACA is already seeing significant advancement and innovation in the platform’s user experience and capabilities. Beyond R&D, the office also provides a home base for ACA professionals across its Managed Services, Advisory, and Distribution businesses based in the region.

"The role of the technologist is changing," said Jody Kochansky, Head of Product and Engineering, ACA Group. "We need people who understand not just technology, but the business problems we're solving for our clients – people who wake up thinking about how to make the product better. That kind of ownership and curiosity is what we're building in Durham, and it's already exceeding our expectations."

ACA's insourcing strategy reflects a broader conviction that owning technology development is increasingly critical in an era defined by artificial intelligence. As AI accelerates the pace of product innovation, ACA’s in-house team, with deep product and business knowledge, a culture of ownership, and the ability to direct and manage AI-assisted development, is a fundamental competitive advantage that cannot be replicated through an outsourced model.
