Brighton Marine Names Brian J. Ewart General Counsel

Experienced healthcare and corporate attorney to support enterprise legal, compliance, and governance functions

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Brighton Marine today announced the appointment of Brian J. Ewart as General Counsel.

Ewart will provide strategic legal counsel and oversight across Brighton Marine and its affiliated enterprises, supporting the organization’s healthcare, housing, and wraparound service initiatives for veterans and military-connected families.

Ewart joined Brighton Marine as Deputy General Counsel and has played a key role guiding and supporting the organization’s legal, compliance, governance, and strategic growth initiatives. He brings extensive experience advising complex organizations on healthcare law, government contracting, regulatory compliance, employment matters, corporate governance, and enterprise risk management, helping organizations navigate growth, operational change, and highly regulated environments.

“Brian has quickly become a trusted advisor and valued member of our leadership team,” said Rosye Cloud, chief executive officer of Brighton Marine. “He brings a rare combination of legal expertise, operational understanding, and deep mission commitment. Just as importantly, he understands that strong governance and thoughtful legal strategy are not ends in themselves - they are tools that help organizations create better outcomes for veterans, military-connected families, and the communities they call home. As Brighton Marine continues to grow and expand our impact, Brian’s leadership will help ensure we remain focused on disciplined execution, responsible stewardship, and the long-term sustainability of our mission.”

As General Counsel, Ewart will oversee enterprise legal affairs, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, contracting, and strategic legal support across Brighton Marine’s portfolio of healthcare, housing, and supportive service initiatives.

“I am honored to serve as General Counsel during an exciting period of growth and transformation for Brighton Marine,” said Ewart. “This organization has built an integrated model that brings together healthcare, housing, and supportive services to strengthen outcomes for veterans and military-connected families. I look forward to continuing to work alongside our leadership team, employees, and partners as we advance that mission.”

Ewart earned his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Villanova University.

His appointment reflects Brighton Marine’s continued investment in leadership capacity, governance excellence, and responsible growth as the organization expands its integrated healthcare, housing, and supportive service initiatives for veterans and military-connected families.
