AM Best to Present at European Life Settlement Association’s 2026 Longevity & Mortality Investor Conference

LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AM Best will participate in the Longevity and Mortality Market Origination panel at the European Life Settlement Association (ELSA) Longevity & Mortality Investor Conference in London on Tuesday, 19 May 2026.

Emmanuel Modu, managing director, global reinsurance and insurance-linked securities, AM Best, will discuss current market trends in the rating of life settlement transactions and how the industry has evolved over the past two decades. Modu also will highlight the current ILS structures AM Best has observed in the life settlement market over the past few years.

The session will also explore key structural considerations, emerging risks and opportunities relevant to rating life settlement-backed securities within this evolving asset class. Modu has been with AM Best since 2001 and spearheaded the organization’s entry into insurance-linked structured finance transactions. His group is responsible for rating all insurance-linked securitizations related to catastrophe bonds, sidecars, disability insurance, life settlements, structured settlements, insurance debt obligations, insurance risk-bearing entities and other insurance-related transactions.

The European Life Settlement Association (ELSA) was founded in 2009 to set standards for the European life settlement industry. The Longevity & Mortality Investor Conference will bring industry peers together to cover the latest insights, news and trends in the longevity and mortality markets.
