IGEN Names Nickolo Villanueva Chief Technologist

Technology executive joins leading tax compliance platform provider

In this role, Villanueva will lead IGEN’s engineering team and drive technology strategy forward, drawing on his expertise in scaling technology organizations in growth-oriented environments.

Villanueva is a proven technology leader with extensive experience overseeing data and platform organizations in complex, growth-oriented environments. His background spans digital transformation and AI adoption in highly regulated industries, including healthcare and financial services, where he has built high-performing global teams that delivered measurable business value.

Villanueva joins IGEN from the Crisis Prevention Institute, a private-equity-backed organization focused on workplace violence prevention and de-escalation training, where he served as Chief Information Officer.

In that role, he led platform modernization initiatives, strengthened cybersecurity and data capabilities, and closely aligned technology strategy with business objectives. He is known for developing talent, simplifying systems, and leveraging data and emerging technologies to improve visibility and decision-making.
