AtScale Announces Equity Financing Led by Snowflake

Snowflake leads AtScale's strategic financing, underscoring the critical role of semantics in the enterprise data stack.

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AtScale, the leader in Universal Semantic Layer technology, today announced it has completed its largest equity financing to date in a financing led by Snowflake Ventures. This investment underscores the critical role semantic infrastructure now plays across analytics and enterprise AI.

As AI systems become primary consumers of enterprise data, the need for governed business context has intensified. Natural language agents, retrieval-augmented systems, and autonomous analytic workflows all depend on well-defined metrics and dimensions to produce reliable answers. AtScale's Universal Semantic Layer—powered by industry-standard interfaces including SQL, DAX, MDX and Model Context Protocol (MCP)—allows customers such as Fidelity and Home Depot to connect BI tools, AI agents, and enterprise applications to a single, governed source of truth.

“Snowflake leading this investment marks a real shift in how the industry values semantics for analytics,” said Chris Lynch, CEO of AtScale. “Customers are consolidating their critical enterprise data on Snowflake at a massive scale, but they still need a semantic layer that keeps every BI application and AI agent speaking the same language. This partnership is a clear signal that governed semantics aren’t optional anymore. They’re the foundation for reliable analytics and AI that you can trust."

"This investment underscores Snowflake's commitment to enabling enterprises with a unified, governed foundation for data, analytics, and AI," said Harsha Kapre, Head of Snowflake Ventures. "As organizations continue to centralize data in Snowflake, partnering with AtScale helps our joint customers maintain consistent business logic and semantic definitions throughout their analytics and AI workflows, delivering performance and enhanced accuracy at scale."

AtScale will continue to support the industry’s widest range of interoperability among data platforms, BI tools and data applications, continuing to accelerate a more connected data ecosystem.

KeyBanc Capital Markets served as exclusive financial advisor and DLA Piper served as legal advisor to AtScale.
