EDF Renewables North America Announces Commercial Operations at Huck Finn Solar Project

Ameren Missouri’s Largest-Ever Solar Project Will Generate $14 million in Revenue for Local Communities

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--EDF Renewables North America today announced that the Huck Finn Solar project achieved commercial operations in December 2024. Developed by EDF Renewables for Ameren Missouri, a subsidiary of Ameren Corporation, the 200 megawatt (MWac) / 270 MWdc Huck Finn Renewable Energy Center is now delivering electricity.

Huck Finn Solar created more than 500 jobs at peak construction and is expected to generate more than $14 million in revenue for the local communities in both Audrain and Ralls Counties during its operational phase. At full capacity, the electricity generated is expected to meet the energy needs of more than 37,000 homes, making a significant contribution to the local power grid and reducing reliance on non-renewable sources of energy.

"We are thrilled to announce the successful launch of the Huck Finn Solar project, which is now fully operational and contributing to Ameren Missouri's solar generation portfolio,” said Jesse Laniak, Regional Project Development Manager at EDF Renewables. “We extend our sincere gratitude to the communities in Audrain and Ralls Counties whose support has been instrumental in transforming this project into a model of community-driven, sustainable development."

“We are transforming the energy grid to enhance reliability and resiliency for customers as well as provide cleaner energy to our communities,” said Mark Birk, chairman and president of Ameren Missouri. “Customers depend on Ameren Missouri to continue investing in new sources of generation to ensure reliability and serve customers for decades to come.”
