The Dairy Alliance Supports Tennessee Communities to Fight Food Insecurity

Works With The Randy Davis Memorial Milk Fund To Expand Milk Access

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Dairy Alliance, a nonprofit funded by dairy farm families of the Southeast, is proud to continue its support for The Randy Davis Memorial Milk Fund. The dedicated nonprofit helps communities facing food insecurity gain equal access to fresh, nutritious milk. The Milk Fund has been a lifeline for seven Tennessee communities, where milk is often considered a luxury grocery item, by providing it on a weekly and monthly basis.

Looking ahead to 2024, The Randy Davis Memorial Milk Fund is planning to expand its reach to additional towns and food pantries. To sustain and grow this vital service, the fund continues to rely on generous donations from the community. In 2023 alone, the organization supplied more than 6,500 gallons of milk to those in need throughout East Tennessee.

Established in memory of Randy Davis, a revered dairy farmer from Davis Brothers Dairy in Philadelphia, TN, the fund honors his legacy. Randy and his brother founded their dairy farm in 1984, where he remained a dedicated advocate for local milk drives in the Knoxville area until his passing in 2016.

“My father was a beloved member of our dairy farm community who dedicated his life to making a difference,” said Sam Craun, daughter of Randy Davis and co-owner of Davis Brothers Dairy. “Inspired by his passion for dairy farming and his belief in the power of community, our family established The Randy Davis Memorial Milk Fund to continue his impactful work, reflecting his enduring spirit of generosity and community service. This fund aims to provide nutritious milk to local families in need.”
