CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL LOS ANGELES ANNUAL HALLOWEEN GREETING CARD DRIVE KICKS OFF

Delta Air Lines has pledged $1 for each holiday-themed card sent by October 29, committing up to $25,000

Trick or Treat? At Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), Halloween is all about treats when it comes to its patients. Supporters and friends in the community, across the country and around the world are invited to take part in the hospital’s annual Halloween greeting card drive. Individuals can go to CHLA.org/Halloween by October 29, choose from one of three ready-to-color designs (a cat, a dog and a bunny) and write a personal message of cheer to a patient.

“Halloween is such a fun time for kids and that’s why we are so excited to host our Pumpkin Party in person for the first time in three years! With safety as our top priority, this event will take place outside and maintain physical distancing,” says Carol Hamamoto, Manager, Child Life and Expressive Arts & Therapies at CHLA. “The Halloween cards are a great way for the community to engage and celebrate the day with our patients who can’t leave the hospital to go trick-or-treating.”

The coloring cards with special notes will be printed out and hand delivered by CHLA’s Child Life team to pediatric patients along with fun goody bags to celebrate the season. Delta Air Lines has pledged to give $1 to the hospital for each card sent by October 29, committing up to $25,000. Patients will also be able to engage in a variety of seasonal-themed activities at the hospital’s Pumpkin Party, which includes pumpkin decorating and arts and crafts.
