Grundfos Sponsors Walk for Water Event on Oct. 29 Benefitting Water Mission

In Partnership with Houston Public Works Department, Walk for Water Raises Money to Bring Safe, Clean Drinking Water to Millions Globally

BROOKSHIRE, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today Grundfos, a global leader in water technology and services, announced the 2022 Walk for Water event on Oct. 29, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Buffalo Bayou at Allen Landing, Houston. In partnership with Houston Public Works, this event benefits Water Mission, a nonprofit Christian engineering organization that has helped more than 5.7 million people gain access to safe water. For 12 years Walk for Water was held as a corporate event by Grundfos and for the first time, it is open to the public with the goal of raising awareness about the global water crisis as well as increasing donations to Water Mission.

“This summer Americans were made more aware personally of the water crisis facing many others around the world after record temperatures, extreme droughts and the failure of municipal water systems,” said Ansell Sims, President of Grundfos USA. “Grundfos has a long-standing partnership with Water Mission hosting multiple fundraisers each year to support the good work they do to provide a basic need to people around the world. Both organizations along with Houston Public Works are passionate about providing all people with safe, clean drinking water in a sustainable way. We hope Houstonians will come out to support the Water Mission and help fight the global water crisis by building safe water solutions for people in need around the world.”

Walk for Water is not a typical fun run. Instead, participants get a peek into what 2.2 billion people around the world go through. Participants walk a 5-gallon water jug 1.5 miles, fill it up with water and then walk the heavy, full jug back 1.5 miles.

Walk for Water is accepting donations, sponsorships and teams and individuals may still register to participate. To learn more, visit Walk for Water.
