Mercedes-Benz Reports Q2 2022 Sales of 79,105 Vehicles

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today reported Q2 2022 sales of 79,105 Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars and 19,730 Vans, bringing MBUSA to a grand total of 98,835 vehicles for the quarter, an increase of 6.9% over the comparable period last year. On a year-to-date basis, MBUSA recorded sales of 141,356 Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles and 33,418 Vans. This brings MBUSA’s total year-to-date sales to 174,774 units, a decrease of 4.2% versus 2021, a result of supply challenges and restrictions.

“Our customer demand remains high, especially the desire for fully electric vehicles which we will continue to introduce throughout the year,” said Dimitris Psillakis, President and CEO of MBUSA. “The expansion of our electric portfolio with three new models over the next six months, including SUV and additional AMG models, will assist our dealers in welcoming more customers to the Mercedes-Benz family.”

Mercedes-Benz volume leaders in Q2 included the GLC, GLE, and C-Class model lines. The GLC led totals with 19,149 units followed by the GLE with sales of 16,458. The C-Class rounded out the top three with 8,650 units. Year-to-date, MBUSA’s volume leaders are the GLC, GLE and GLS with totals of 36,059; 32,448; and 12,394 respectively.

Q2 sales of the all-electric Mercedes-EQ EQS Sedan totaled 1,959 units with 4,048 vehicles sold year-to-date. Q2 sales of Mercedes-AMG high-performance models totaled 7,145 units, an increase of 2.3% from the previous quarter.

Separately, Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) models recorded sales of 33,096 vehicles during the second quarter, and 66,025 YTD 2022, achieving the 2nd best-ever result in the first half of any year.
