2021 Sweet Pharma Day Winner is HDAX Therapeutics!

MONTRÉAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AmorChem, BIOQuébec and CQDM, co-organizers of Sweet Pharma Day, are pleased to announce that HDAX Therapeutics is the winner of the 2021 edition. Sixteen Canadian startup companies (“Sweet 16”) selected by representatives from global pharma companies, made an elevator pitch in front of 150+ participants, who voted for HDAX Therapeutics as the winner of Sweet Pharma Day 2021 and of the $2,500 grand prize.

This year, the digital event was under the sweet flavour of the apple, a typical fruit production in the Quebec province. Forty-one proposals were received and the selected Sweet 16 presented innovative and disruptive life science technologies all with the same intent of improving patients’ quality of life and finding cures for diseases.

« Such type of event allows us to hear about innovative research and development made in Canada. We clearly have very high quality and expertise in biotech in our country,» says Elizabeth Douville, Cofounder and Managing Partner, AmorChem.

« The second edition of Sweet Pharma Day confirmed the need for networking events and we are already excited about coming back with a new edition in 2023,» adds Diane Gosselin, President and CEO, CQDM.

Anie Perrault, Executive Director, BioQuébec concludes: « We are really proud to have allowed key players in the life sciences ecosystem in Quebec, Canada and internationally to come together to discuss, create new links, foster new collaborations and accelerate the development of new biopharmaceutical innovations. »

The Sweet Pharma Day was generously supported by its Gold sponsors, Fonds de solidarité FTQ and ROBIC, and its Silver sponsors, adMare BioInnovations, Innovative Medicine Canada and Royal Bank of Canada. To name a few, Invest Quebec and several presenting companies of the 2019 edition completed the financial support as Bronze sponsors. Organizers are thankful for Michel Jodoin’s sweet touch with the ice cider!
