Dialpad Drives Blue Cliff College Shift to Remote Learning

Blue Cliff College chooses Dialpad for seamless deployment, ease of use and scalability during COVID-19 pandemic

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dialpad Inc., the industry leader in AI-powered communication and collaboration, has played a critical role in Blue Cliff College’s successful transition to hybrid-remote learning over the past year. Blue Cliff College, a technical school with campuses located in Mississippi, Arkansas and Louisiana, has more than 100 employees that rely on Dialpad to help students continue their education without disruption. Blue Cliff College leverages Dialpad cloud communications solutions to keep its multiple campuses connected when on-premises phone systems were no longer a viable option.

In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, Blue Cliff College sought a flexible cloud solution to facilitate the quick shift to remote and hybrid learning environments. The college found the right mix of reliability and ease of use with Dialpad’s calling and conferencing technology to support this new working and learning environment. “With Dialpad, the business functions never stopped and the classes simply transitioned to online classes,” said Jeremy Cumbie, information technology director, Blue Cliff College. “I don’t think we actually had a down day — classes continued like nothing happened.”

Beyond the benefits for students, switching from a legacy, on-premises phone system to Dialpad saved Blue Cliff College thousands each month on conferencing while providing easy-to-use and high-quality video conferencing. “For me, the biggest thing was the telephone system,” Cumbie continued. “We had an old, traditional system that looked similar in every location but was hosted by different companies. We didn’t have anyone with any knowledge on how to manipulate the system, down to even resetting a voicemail password.” Dialpad unified the school’s disparate communications into a single, accessible platform powered by Voice Intelligence (Vi™).

Dialpad provides a secure conferencing platform for institutions to facilitate lectures, meetings and messages across multiple devices, backed by its proprietary, real-time Vi engine which provides live transcription of all calls, the ability to search past conversations, and powerful analytics. Now, Blue Cliff College automatically tracks how many calls are made to and from Admissions, and the success rate, rather than relying on manual note-taking. “The agents love that the Dialpad system tracks phone calls and text messages. Many of our agents began text messaging students through the Dialpad app, either on their cell phones or on the desktop, if they couldn’t get them on the phone. As a result, connect rates have improved significantly and our agents absolutely love it,” said Cumbie.

With Dialpad, schools like Blue Cliff College have secure technology that protects their data in the cloud and enhances administrative experiences that take care of busy work so students, educators and university IT administrators can focus on what's important. Today, Blue Cliff College has built a robust and secure foundation for its campus-wide digital strategy with the help of Dialpad.
