Tech Teams Delivering Transformation “Too Slowly”

49% of tech leaders blame a skills shortage for slow delivery times

TRUMBULL, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A skills shortage is preventing technical teams from fulfilling the growing demand for new workplace technology quickly enough. Questionmark, the online assessment provider, is urging certification bodies to increase the scale of their programs. Doing so will mean employers can access more workers with relevant and verifiable skills.

Over the last year, firms have accelerated their plans to deliver services and operations digitally by three to four years.1 However, many are unable to move as quickly as they would like. Only 24% believe they cope well with unexpected changes.

Average application delivery time still stands at three to six months, which for many firms is too long. Some 49% of IT leaders believe that the lack of technical skills is to blame for the delays, according to research by tech website, the Register.2

Lars Pedersen, CEO of Questionmark, said: “Now more than ever, leaders have an appetite for technological transformation and the business benefits it can bring. Tech teams must deliver quickly to maintain momentum.

“Certification bodies play a crucial role in equipping the workforce with the skills they need to deliver. By becoming more agile and increasing their scope, they can help workers gain the necessary skills. They can also expand their own revenue streams.”

Questionmark provides certification bodies with enterprise-grade technology that integrates all aspects of delivering an assessment into one platform. It is:

  • Adaptable and easy to use: it is easy to create content and adapt questions. The platform instantly marks paper and compiles results. Patterns and trends are easy to spot.
  • Secure online environment: the platform’s proctoring gateway enables the test-setter to integrate the right anti-cheating solution, depending on the stakes of the assessment.
  • Frictionless integration: of ecommerce, reporting and digital badging for successful candidates.
