AEG Earns Top Marks in 2021 Corporate Equality Index

AEG Receives 100 Percent Score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Annual Assessment on LGBTQ Workplace Equality

LOS ANGELES--()--AEG, the world’s leading sports and live entertainment company, announced today that the company has once again received a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2021 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s premier benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality. AEG joins the ranks of more than 767 major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks this year.

To earn a perfect score, companies must not only have inclusive policies for LGBTQ employees, that include transgender-inclusive healthcare and domestic partner benefits, they must also show public engagement and community support for LGBTQ events, non-discriminatory hiring and recruiting practices and LGBTQ supplier diversity initiatives.

“We are very proud to once again receive a 100 percent score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index and be designated as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality,” said Jae Requiro, VP of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for AEG. “Achieving this perfect score for three consecutive years shows the depth of AEG’s commitment to inclusion and diversity. We believe that our company is not only stronger, but more innovative and successful when everyone has a seat at the table and all of our employees feel valued and included. By weaving diversity, equity and inclusion into the fabric of our company and working hand-in-hand with community partners and local businesses, we can build a more just and equitable world.”

“From the previously unimaginable impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, to a long overdue reckoning with racial injustice, 2020 was an unprecedented year. Yet, many businesses across the nation stepped up and continued to prioritize and champion LGBTQ equality,” said Alphonso David, Human Rights Campaign President. “This year has shown us that tools like the CEI are crucial in the work to increase equity and inclusion in the workplace, but also that companies must breathe life into these policies and practices in real and tangible ways. Thank you to the companies that understand protecting their LGBTQ employees and consumers from discrimination is not just the right thing to do—but the best business decision.”

The results of the 2021 CEI showcase how 1,142 U.S.-based companies are not only promoting LGBTQ-friendly workplace policies in the U.S., but also for the 57% of CEI-rated companies with global operations who are helping advance the cause of LGBTQ inclusion in workplaces abroad. AEG’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria earned a 100 percent ranking and the designation as one of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality.

The CEI evaluates companies on detailed criteria including non-discrimination policies, employee benefits, demonstrated organizational competency and accountability around LGBTQ diversity and inclusion, public commitment to LGBTQ equality, and responsible citizenship.

AEG’s ongoing efforts in satisfying all of CEI’s criteria resulted in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality. For more information on the 2021 Corporate Equality Index, or to download a free copy of the report, visit www.hrc.org/cei.
