Thanking Health Care Heroes: Regions Bank Teams Share the Good

Annual program by Regions offers appreciation for people making a positive difference.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Regions Bank on Monday announced its annual Share the Good program will focus on serving health care workers who are on the front lines battling COVID-19.

Share the GoodSM is a way for Regions associates to offer thanks to people who are supporting our communities. Activities will take place from Aug. 31 – Sept. 4. Examples include:

  • In St. Petersburg and Clearwater, Florida, lunches will be provided by Regions teams for medical workers at 11 health care centers.
  • Across the bay in Tampa, Regions is working with a local caterer to deliver meals to the staff at several urgent care facilities.
  • In Huntsville, Alabama, emergency room nurses and the staff of a fever and flu clinic will receive meals from Regions teams.
  • In Middle Tennessee, lunch will be on Regions at clinics in Nashville, Clarksville and Smyrna.
  • The list goes on, with Regions associates across the Southeast, Midwest and Texas offering their appreciation through Share the Good.

“This is a year like none other, and since the pandemic began, Regions has delivered significant financial support to medical organizations that are working each day to provide life-saving care,” said Leroy Abrahams, head of Community Affairs for Regions Bank. “Share the Good allows us to follow up with a more personal approach. This is about our local teams finding ways to let individual health care professionals know we are deeply grateful for their service, especially during such a difficult time.”

Regions will share highlights from this week’s activities through @RegionsNews on Twitter.

By focusing the 2020 Share the Good program on health care workers, Regions is building on its commitment to help communities impacted by COVID-19. Since this spring, Regions Bank and the nonprofit Regions Foundation have allocated more than $3 million to COVID-19 recovery needs. Additional funding will be issued to nonprofits and other organizations in the coming months as part of a broader, $5 million coronavirus-recovery commitment.

Regions’ focus on community engagement never stops.
