Google, PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital, Norwest Venture Partners Are First to Sign Up for Free Coronavirus Daily Update From Healthline.com

Healthline Helps Organizations Keep Their Employees Informed

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Healthline.com, the nation’s No. 1 health-information website, today announced it is offering its “Coronavirus Daily Update for Business,” a free email missive delivered Monday through Friday to any company, association or organization in America that wants to send up-to-date information about the coronavirus to its employees.

Google, PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital, Norwest Venture Partners, and more than 60 other public and private companies, universities and non-profit organizations already have signed up for the service during a short trial period. Google is sending the Healthline email to more than 115,000 of its employees worldwide. More than 2,000 employees of PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles are receiving the Update. Norwest Venture Partners, whose portfolio companies include Imperfect Foods, Spotify and Uber, is offering the publication to 200 of its employees in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, India, and Israel.

The new product addresses a universal gap that businesses are scrambling to fill for a suddenly remote workforce. Employees are looking for leadership and a sense of community from their employer. According to a recent survey, 63% of employees surveyed believe information from their company more than a government website or traditional media. Also, 63% of employees surveyed want daily COVID-19 updates from their employers, and 48% of them want it via email. Healthline’s free publication fills this need by giving organizations a single, trusted source of information based on facts and written in an empathetic tone for people navigating the crisis.

“One of the challenges of this unprecedented pandemic is not knowing what information to trust,” said David Kopp, CEO and President of Healthline Media. “Everyone is craving up-to-date, quality information about coronavirus. With hundreds of thousands of people now working remotely, we decided to offer our Update for free to help companies and organizations keep their teams uniformly informed.

“Few, if any, organizations had a game plan in place for a pandemic like this,” Kopp continued. “Our goal is to help organizations empower and educate their workforces with facts about COVID-19.”

The Update features articles by Healthline’s staff that’s comprised of more than 120 writers and nearly 100 medical expert fact-checkers. It is delivered in a ready-to-email format to an administrator every weekday after 5:00 p.m. PDT. Organizations that want to take advantage of the free Update simply forward the email from Healthline or copy the content into their own branded email template. They can then distribute to their teams whenever it makes the most sense for them.
