— “Boots for Fort Worth” art competition benefits local nonprofits; Reliant powers Dickies Arena as official energy provider —

FORT WORTH, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Saddle up! Reliant is partnering with the iconic Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo for the second year in a row to host “Boots for Fort Worth,” an art contest benefiting Fort Worth nonprofits with larger-than-life decorated cowboy boots. New in 2020, the rodeo will be held at the new Dickies Arena, where Reliant is the official energy provider and a founding sponsor.

“We are thrilled to celebrate this legendary Fort Worth tradition in the rodeo’s new home at Dickies Arena,” said Elizabeth Killinger, president of Reliant. “From powering the rodeo to highlighting the artistic talents of local youth through our Boots for Fort Worth art contest, we’re honored to be supporting the Fort Worth community this rodeo season.”

The Boots for Fort Worth art contest will showcase the artistic skills of local children representing three Fort Worth nonprofits through 3-foot-tall decorated cowboy boots. The boots will be on display at the Reliant Showdown Saloon in the Amon G. Carter Exhibit Hall. Local Fort Worth judges will help Reliant determine first, second and third place for donations of $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500 respectively. The boots will be on display for the public to enjoy from January 17 through February 8.

In addition, Reliant is bringing the convenience of power on the go to keep stock show and rodeo-goers connected and their mobile devices charged thanks to free first-day rentals at NRG Go Charging Stations. These portable power solutions let visitors rent a power pack from a self-service station, charge their device and return the palm-sized unit to any station at the venue. And for the first time, visitors can document their time at the rodeo with a picture by the Reliant Big Boot, standing more than 25-feet-tall, located on the Simmons Bank Plaza at Dickies Arena.

Reliant is also offering an exclusive rodeo electricity plan that gives customers the opportunity to saddle up in some new western wear. Customers can sign up for the Reliant Rodeo Plan and receive a $100 Cavender’s gift card to use toward their favorite western wear – all while wrangling a low price on electricity.
