Books-A-million Showcases Ann Napolitano’s “Dear Edward” as Latest President’s Pick

A transcendent coming-of-age story to hit Books-A-Million shelves and website January 14, 2020

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--()--Books-A-Million is pleased to announce its latest President’s Pick – Ann Napolitano’s transcendent coming-of-age story “Dear Edward.” The book is set to release on January 14, 2020 at Books-A-Million, and fans can pre-order a copy at any of the book store’s locations or online at booksamillion.com. To see a comprehensive list of President’s Picks, visit booksamillion.com/presidentpick.

The President’s Pick collection is a compilation of new books that have been personally selected by Books-A-Million CEO and President Terrance G. Finley for their ability to capture the attention of diverse audiences. Previous President’s Picks include Casey Cep’s “Furious Hours” and “How to Stop Time,” a novel by Matt Haig.

“Ann Napolitano’s ‘Dear Edward’ defies categorization or simple plot summary. It is a book for every reader,” said Finley. “Edward is but one of a host of characters who will stay with you long after you turn the last page. Chances are you will find pieces of yourself and those you love along the way as well. ‘Dear Edward’ is a wonder; powerful, engaging, endearing and transformational – a beautifully rendered story of hope.”

One summer morning, 12-year-old Edward Adler, his beloved older brother, his parents and 183 other passengers board a flight in Newark headed for Los Angeles. Among them is a Wall Street wunderkind, a young woman coming to terms with an unexpected pregnancy, an injured vet returning from Afghanistan, a septuagenarian business tycoon and a free-spirited woman running away from her controlling husband. And then, halfway across the country, the plane crashes. Edward is the sole survivor.

Ann Napolitano is the author of “A Good Hard Look” and “Within Arm’s Reach.” She is also the associate editor of One Story literary magazine. Napolitano received an MFA from New York University, and she has taught fiction writing for Brooklyn College’s MFA program, New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies and for Gotham Writers’ Workshop. Napolitano lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two children.
