Hunton Andrews Kurth Expands Competition Practice with Addition of Craig Y. Lee as Head of Cartel and Antitrust Investigations Team

WASHINGTON--()--Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP continues its expansion with the addition of Craig Y. Lee as a partner in its competition and consumer protection practice. Based in Washington, Lee will head the firm’s cartel and antitrust investigations team.

Lee focuses his practice on international and domestic cartel defense, white-collar criminal investigations and antitrust litigation. He assists clients in a wide range of industries with conducting internal investigations, developing compliance programs, and dealing with cartel and other criminal investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice and other enforcement agencies.

“Craig is one of the most well-regarded leaders of the global cartel bar as well as a highly decorated former federal prosecutor,” said Ryan P. Phair, head of Hunton Andrews Kurth’s competition and consumer protection practice. “His addition will allow us to continue to expand our rapidly growing team of accomplished antitrust lawyers and provide comprehensive and robust service to our clients facing cartel investigations and litigation.”

Before joining Hunton Andrews Kurth, Lee most recently was a partner and led the global cartel task force at Baker McKenzie. He also served as assistant chief and prosecutor in the DOJ’s Antitrust Division for 13 years. While at DOJ, he led teams of attorneys in prominent investigations and landmark prosecutions of international and domestic cartels and related crimes, including the first successfully litigated extradition of a foreign national for an antitrust violation.

A graduate of Northwestern University and Northwestern University School of Law, Lee received four Antitrust Division Assistant Attorney General Awards of Distinction and the Washington Field Office’s FBI Service Award for his work on criminal and civil enforcement during his public service career.

Hunton Andrews Kurth’s experience working both inside and outside of antitrust enforcement agencies enables the firm to provide counsel regarding all types of competition and consumer protection matters in a multitude of jurisdictions worldwide. Having represented clients in some of the most high-profile antitrust matters in recent years, the team is prepared to help global organizations navigate the ever-changing antitrust landscape through the challenges of complex government and private investigations, litigation and merger reviews.
