LUFKIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Austin Bank, Southside Bank, Citizens National Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) will award $23,000 in Partnership Grant Program (PGP) funds to Neighborhood STRONG, a nonprofit organization focused on enhancing the quality of life of the residents of Wards 1 and 2 in Lufkin, Texas. The organization partners with other local organizations to assist homeowners in enhancing and renovating their properties.
Representatives from the banks and the nonprofit will attend a check presentation at noon on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at Neighborhood STRONG’s offices at 211 East Shepherd Avenue, Suite 110 in Lufkin, Texas. The media is encouraged to attend.
PGP awards are matched by the member’s contribution to a CBO of $500 up to $4,000 at a 3:1 ratio to provide grants up to $12,000 that help promote and strengthen relationships between community-based organizations and FHLB Dallas members. The PGP also complements the development activities fostered by FHLB Dallas’ Affordable Housing and Community Investment programs. In 2018, FHLB Dallas is awarding $300,000 in Partnership Grant Program (PGP) funds through 31 member institutions to assist 32 community-based organizations. Combined with the $114,010 contributed by FHLB Dallas members, a total of $414,010 will be awarded to the organizations.
