Lighting Science Unveils Enhanced Lighting for Peak Performance

New Class of LED Products Boosts Productivity and Improves Sleep

WEST WARWICK, R.I.--()--Lighting Science®, the global leader in human-centric lighting solutions, unveiled its enhanced line of biological LED products that deliver greater physiological impacts and improved energy efficiency. Lighting Science’s team of experts, who first brought circadian lighting to the International Space Station, have been at the forefront of the science of sleep for 30 years. The upgraded versions of the GoodDay® A19, GoodNight® A19, and Sleepy Baby® bulbs, along with the newly introduced GoodDay® T8 Linear and GoodDay® LBar, have higher color rendering, and meet Energy Star standards for efficiency. In addition, they deliver enhanced biological effects such as increased productivity, performance and rejuvenation using proprietary spectrum technology.

“LED lighting technology is always evolving,” said Khim Lee, President of Lighting Science. “At Lighting Science, we are committed to creating thoughtful, top-performing human-centric products. We bring together the best of biological lighting technology with the energy efficiency of LEDs to create compelling yet simple solutions for a healthy environment.”

Lighting Science has consistently pioneered cutting-edge LED products. In recent years the company focused its R&D activities on health, wellness and performance-enhancing lighting for consumer and commercial use. The GoodDay lamps are currently implemented in schools, homes and offices around the country. These pioneering products have helped Markon Solutions reach WELL Certification at their office in Falls Church, Virginia, improved student alertness at Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington, Virginia and enhanced the sustainable and wellness-focused environment at The Nature Conservancy offices in Brunswick, Maine. Now, with the launch of the GoodDay LBar and GoodDay T8, Lighting Science will expand its reach into commercial spaces such as corporate offices, gyms and hospitals. Lighting Science continues to innovate and will unveil, in the coming months, a desktop consumer light with both GoodDay and GoodNight spectrums, as well as GoodDay/GoodNight tunable troffers and downlights for both home and commercial use.

“This science has been around for a while, and now the public is interested in implementing these developments as part of an overall healthy lifestyle,” says Fred Maxik, Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Lighting Science.

As Lighting Science continues its path of innovation, the next generation of products will help purify the air we breathe, benefit efforts to create a more productive workforce, support the construction of smarter classrooms and assist in meeting the needs of the global food economy with advanced indoor agriculture technology.
